Passio is a Certified B Corporation™!

Passio was founded with the goal of creating a more inclusive world that works for everyone. From the beginning we have been led by Teal organisational design principles which challenge the status quo and put people before profits. For this reason, becoming a B Corp seemed like a natural step to us. As a company that has been obsessed since day one with doing the right thing for disabled and neurodiverse people, society as a whole, and the environment, it’s fantastic to be welcomed into a community of like minded organisations.

The B Corp certification addresses the entirety of a business’ operations and covers five key impact areas of Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. The certification process is rigorous, with applicants required to reach a benchmark score of over 80 while providing evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices relating to energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency.

Our journey towards Certification began January 2021, when we started filling out the B Impact Assessment. It took months of hard work to gather all the necessary documentation to prove we were meeting the performance, legal and transparency requirements. Over these 10 months, we learned a lot about what we were doing well and where we might want to focus in future.

Becoming a Certified B Corporation demonstrates how serious we are about our social mission. Joining the B Corp community will open us up to new opportunities to meet and work with other like-minded people and organisations. We are excited to work towards a better, more accessible, and more sustainable future together.

Today, there are almost 4000 Certified B Corporations across 74 countries. And we are proud to be a part of that growing community. We are overjoyed to have found our home, but our journey does not end with Certification.

Accessibility has never been more important. As more and more products and essential services move online. As we start to envisage a world where we live out more of our lives online in the metaverse. We have a challenge ahead to make sure that accessibility is at the top of the priority list when it comes to the digital future of humanity. To use the words of President John F. Kennedy on America’s mission to put a man on the moon, this is a challenge we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win.
